About Me, Jennifer Hasty...
I've been doing photography, here in Central Virginia, for about 20+ years. As a little kid, I was mesmerized by my mom's childhood pictures and slides. I remember sitting on the floor with the old cigar box at my side staring at these mostly black and white images wondering many things such as, "What color was that shirt? Was Peppy, their little dog, friendly? What did the voice of my grandfather sound like? How often did they go to that house at Lake Garda?" My grandfather seemed to always have a camera in his hand; and he passed the love of photography on to my mother, my aunt, and me! I started out on the yearbook staff in High School, then worked at the department store studio and the good 'ole mall. As a second job, I freelanced and learned to photograph weddings. When my sweet mom passed away in 1996, I started An Image of You. So, with the soul growth of a loved one's death, I've just come to appreciate freezing these memories. Ya know? Oh, and those two girls at the top of my website? Those are mine :-)
Things I love to do when a camera isn't in my hand? I love to learn Ballroom Dance! And I've enjoyed it before the stars - since 2003! I don't go often, but I really enjoy the Foxtrot and ChaCha - hence the "Uncle Robert" comment in the wedding section. (go and read that now. :) I also love to find ways to save money. Remind me to tell you the story of how I got my cameras!
